Hello, my name is Sam. I am a 22-year-old Product Design student at Coventry University.

My time at university has been spent improving on certain skills. I pride myself on my ability to communicate design outcomes using programs like Rhino and Keyshot to create CAD models of a high standard. As well as this, I am also proficient in the Adobe Suite, especially programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator. I have also improved on social skills; I am very capable of taking up different roles within a group and building up a good relationship with peers.

For my final year project, I decided to explore sustainable and conservational practices. This led to beekeeping. Due to factors such as Urbanisation natural habitats for lots of pollinators are disappearing, species of bees around the world are now being added to endangered species lists. These pollinators are essential for our ecosystem. One way in which I thought to tackle this issue was urban beekeeping. The idea behind BeeBox was to help make steps towards this issue by redesign the beehive. BeeBox is easier to maintain due to the material choices, it is more suited for a city environment, it is cheaper in comparison to other brands and therefore more accessible; a family-orientated product.
