One of the biggest problems is plastic waste.  7.7 billion plastic bottles are used each year in the UK. 300 million tonnes of plastic waste are produced, adding up to the weight of the entire human population. Based on research, 59% of people worry about the cleanliness of public taps, fountains and dispensers, and about 26% carry a reusable bottle, but also buy bottled water because they can't always find somewhere to refill water.

Coolerpoint will be mainly located in urban cities. One of the big ideas of Coolerpoint is to pay for the water. It might seem confusing – why would I pay for water? The water provided by Coolerpoint will be pure branded water, such as Evian, Fiji or Aquafina. Coolerpoint is a highly visible refill point; perfect for museums, libraries and transportation hubs.
