Rutger Hamel is an automotive and transport exterior designer. From a young age he has exemplified extreme passion towards the automotive industry.

At the age of fifteen Rutger attended an intensive five-day Motor City Europe design course under supervision of multiple industry professionals. The mentorship kindled his love for the automotive design industry, which would eventually lead him to pursue a degree in Automotive and Transport Design at Coventry University.

Upon completion of his first year at university, Rutger was keen to extend the horizons of his passion. Interning at Feadship, a leading superyacht design and construction company.  Working at their shipyard, followed by a design internship at de Voogt Naval Architects.

In the summer of 2019 he attended a three-month internship at Hyster-Yale Nijmegen where he worked on multiple projects including a prototype design and a range of production models. As a result of his exceptional work, Hyster-Yale asked him to create the design guidelines for future projects, afterwhich they offered to support his FMP on a Hyster-Yale Martian material handling vehicle, exploring multiple concepts for possible
