My name is Marcin Majchrzak and I chose to design a Jeep for the Dakar Rally 2050 as my final major project. The main inspiration for the project is a scarab beetle, broadly linked with North Africa. It uses hydrogen as a power source for four wheel hub motors. To provide protection and comfort for the driver and co-driver glass has been eliminated and replaced by advanced technology, combining images from cameras and sensors and showing them on screens inside. This way weight is reduced thanks to the lack of need to use roll cage, plus monocoque is much stronger; instead of pillars with glass between them there is one solid material. The suspension is designed to adjust to conditions thanks to use of human-like artificial muscles connected to double swing arms on every wheel. The wheels are designed to transform and provide better grip, in case the vehicle gets stuck in soft sand.
