The design which I propose for Amman tourism is an Adaptive Pod. Adaptive Pods are climate responding pods which can be fixed on any existing structure. Amman is a city where buildings are placed without any evident boundaries, so as my main design area is tourism the challenge I faced was managing crowds in densely packed buildings. West Amman is surrounded by skyscrapers while East Amman is thickly packed with residential buildings. My idea was to create a hotel which is situated within East Amman, so tourists can experience the essence of the city while the locals also get benefits from it. I used the main challenge i.e. the densely packed buildings as a design element and created a hotel which is consumed by the city itself. Making accommodation a central point for activities means the hotel is distributed into the city. Pre-designed pods are used for designs. Five type of pods are created for different type of users: 1. Super cheap: for tourists with a low budget 2. Garden room: for new experiences inside the city 3. The refugee: escape from existing city conditions 4. Fancy/business class room: luxury room 5. Introspective room: rooms with a new experience.
