Georgia Weston
BA (Hons) Photography
Studio-based photographer Georgia Weston creates work that investigates concepts of feminism, sexual desire, fetishism and the gaze. Drawing from, and combining, fashion and still life, Weston explores aesthetics of contemporary advertising photography. Blending image appropriation techniques with studio photography and use of colour and framing, she builds stylised narratives that make reference to patterns of representation in visual culture. Moving beyond the camera lens, she is fascinated by consumer behaviour and the psychology of desire within advertising. With a bold aesthetic and striking use of colour, Weston aims to bring our awareness to our own habits of looking, and the nature of consuming through images.
