Kelly Bryan
BA (Hons) Photography
Encouraged by the escapism of photography, writer and visual artist Kelly Bryan surpasses the conventional expectations of the photographic medium to investigate intimate narratives. Her fine-art practice often translates intangible and complex themes into cohesive pieces of visual art, in which sequencing and design play a significant role. Peering through a phenomenological lens, she often questions topics including belonging, domestic structures and relationships. Bryan specializes in analogue photography and visual experimentation, which help to explain these multifaceted narratives in an ambiguous format and therefore inviting interpretation from the audience.
Bryan also practices documentary and travel photography, visualising environments and cultures in a subjective manner to explore the relationship between herself and the new location. Alongside photography, Bryan is an avid writer with a broad range of professionalism in commercial, art-based and journalistic writing.
