KIT (Keep In Touch) is a digital assistant aimed at keeping elderly people engaged and connected to friends and family. KIT helps less tech-savvy older adults to keep in touch with loved ones and vice versa. KIT allows family members to easily check-in and will alert them whether users are around or not. Using voice assistive technology, KIT proactively engages by offering personalised suggestions and responding to questions. The product uses intuitive artificial intelligence to allow the user to operate key functions easily. Using semiotic visual language on buttons for effective communication, these intuitive control elements are easily recognised by the user. Haptic feedback from the buttons provides a click sound to confirm to the user it has been pressed. The default setting is always off for the microphone and camera, unless turned on by the user. Back-lit keys confirm to the user the button is on when the LED light is showing, and the dial controls the volume easily. This would provide an easy to use interactive device for older users.
