I’m a designer from the North East of England. I’m enthralled by radical, enigmatic creations that push the boundaries of conservative design. I believe that the best design captures curiosity and imagination, whilst diligently encompassing adept functionality.

The Spark is a hi-tech, performance-specialist synthesizer/sampler hybrid. It encapsulates a range of musical tech influences and utilises them in one all-encompassing configuration. The device fundamentally operates a four-track record/loop system that comes complete with a diverse collection of sound modulating functionalities and FX. These are integrated intuitively across three interconnected boards, in dynamic fashion designed to engage the musician more with their live performance. The core attributes of The Spark are rooted in expression and innovation. It encourages a technical and creative playstyle from musicians, allowing them advanced experimentation in the realms of sound. The key technical innovation that The Spark prides itself with is its direct sampling feature, which aims to make the product the world’s first co-operative play instrument.

This hybrid outfit sets to embark on one large mission, to revolutionise live musical performance as we know it today. The Spark sets to push the boundaries of what musicians can achieve as a unit, to capture the amazement of its audience, and the imagination of its player.
