Sophie Bereziuk

My name is Sophie and I live in Burnham, Buckinghamshire. I’m a keen designer who has a great interest in Eco-Design. My project was to create a play setting to encourage children back outdoors. This was to try and tackle the rising rates of obesity and lack of green spaces in London for children aged between 3 and 7 years old. The space will also work for adults to sit and relax in, so they can de-stress from their normal day jobs.

Due to my interest in eco-design and the idea of ambiguous play being good for a child's development, I have used timber to give it a sense of naturally being in the outdoors, rather than using metals, and having a construction feel to it. To add to this, I have details of plants and bushes scattered about to add Sensory play as this gets kids in touch with nature as well as being interesting for children with certain difficulties.
