The year is 2050 and areas within Sub-Saharan Africa still suffer severe poverty. Events such as DAKAR benefit local communities with increased tourism, attention and donations. RallyAid is a new event with its primary focus being charity and sustainability over competition. Through OEM sponsorship, small solar farms will be built at each rural village/stage to provide power to the event. Once the event has passed the solar farms will remain to provide power to the villages.
This vehicle is a support truck based on those used in the DAKAR Rally. The vehicle will carry three crew members and tackle the same terrain as the racers but will not compete. A large storage area allows the teams to load tools and parts when the vehicles require maintenance. Vehicle will harness additional solar energy through built in solar cells. Power harnessed can be used to charge smaller race vehicles at each stop therefore making the truck a mobile power source.
