Qingqing Xu

My final project is a 2842gt yacht for CHINA-ASEAN free trade centre in Macau, capable of carrying 80 passengers and 40 crew in 2030, for transnational trade business and journeys in south-east Asia, to make better use of the free-trade policy and provide a channel and elegant environment for both goods providers, and buyers to communicate more conveniently.

Using Macau’s regional flower, the lotus, as the source of inspiration and combining bifolia with parametric design to give the form tension and softness. The luminous keels serve as the lighting system both for the open decks and the interior parts in the evening, meanwhile emphasizing the sequential pattern and the geometric structure.

My name is QingqingXu, majoring in industrial design at Nanjing University of Science and Technology in China and Automotive & Transport Design at Coventry University in UK during 2016-2020. This is my first yacht design because I am ambitious for the challenge and working in a new area has increased my scope and abilities.

The professional skills I am confident in are Photoshops, Illustrator, Alias, Vred, Blender, Auto CAD, SketchUp.
