To me, architecture is about the emotions and sensory experience a space expresses, as well as the geographical and cultural context of the site. These ideals inspire me to create designs that are rooted in local identity and human experience.
The project is a community centre which aims to be an inviting and engaging space for people of all ages; encouraging them to create, learn, and share ideas about various forms of arts & crafts. The main inspiration for my design was the word ‘bridge’ and the idea of connections. Connection between Constitution Hill (the project site) and Jewellery Quarter, connection between the interior and exterior spaces of the building, and the connections between the members of the local community.
