Balázs Naughton

Balázs is currently completing his final year of BA (Hons) Illustration & Animation at Coventry University. In his free time, he likes to play the saxophone, watch films, and bake big pizzas and huge cakes.

From a young age, Balázs had a keen imagination with an interest in animals, mythical creatures, fairy tales and folk tales, all of which he loves to incorporate into his artworks. Colourful, bright, and quirky could all be used to describe his art. Through his years of study, he has developed an ‘off-perspective, 2D, abstract-influenced, cartoon’ approach.

Balázs has a fascination for storytelling through illustration; designing and developing characters, then creating illustrations to bring the story to life is what he finds most exciting. He would describe his own style as “mildly chaotic”, using bold and exciting colours, focusing on the simplicity of illustration while still remaining impactful. This is what Balázs wanted to achieve with A Fox Tail.

A Fox Tail by Balázs Naughton is an illustrated book based on a traditional folk tale, which he has created for his final major project.
