Kerry-Anne Carroll

I'm Kerry, from Birmingham, a brand new and sparkling Fine Art and Illustration Graduate! 

My work for the degree show was inspired by Victorian Circus Freakshows and the incredible artistry history of traditonal tattoo art. It started off with a curiosity of the tattoo symbolism used within Freakshows, where the people were mocked for their ink, when compared to todays society, a large number of people with tattoos has almost become the new normal.

My work progressed into creating my own personal freakshow exhibition for the Degree Show, featuring skulls, handcasts and tattoos. Over the past 2 years, I started creating a series of Victorian inspired circus posters, which has also been carried on over to my degree show work. The intricate filigree designs are my inspiration for creating beautifully detailed posters. 

I am currently working on opening my own Etsy shop to sell prints of my work and to offer all kinds of commissions!
