Sian Creasey
BA (Hons) Fine Art
Sian Creasey (b. 1997, Boston, England) is a Fine Art student currently based in Coventry, UK.
Inspired by the hidden beauty in the familiar scenes of the everyday, and largely working with photography and film, Sian creates work which aims to draw attention to the mundane aspects of life and the environment which surrounds us, looking at details and subtle changes which may often be taken for granted, or not noticed at all. She also creates partially abstract images which aim to remove the subject from its context and invite the viewer to experience the beauty of the details.
Sian has most recently worked with time-lapse photography and film in order to capture and document everyday changes in weather and landscapes in her local environment, looking particularly at the cloudscapes she sees from her own garden, creating sequences which highlight the different ways in which our skies transform from day to day and hour to hour, from the subtle to the more dramatic.
As her practice progresses after her degree, she hopes to continue exploring and capturing the finer details which make up everyday life.
